Fawaz Hadi Salem Ali Al Muharrami is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Shuaa Energy 2, a company in charge of developing the third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, an 800MW PV project which was won by a Masdar-led consortium - setting a new world record for the lowest-cost solar power - in June 2016. Mr. Al Muharrami is seconded from Masdar’s Clean Energy unit, a commercial-scale renewable energy developer and investor, which develops some of the world’s most sophisticated clean-energy projects. Al Muharrami joined Masdar in 2009 and worked in developing a number of projects. Subsequently, he managed delivery of the Port Victoria Wind Power Project, Masdar’s 6MW wind farm in the Seychelles, launched in June 2013. Additionally, he has worked closely in securing the 117MW Tafila wind farm in Jordan in 2015, and a 50MW wind farm in the Sultanate of Oman in 2016, the first large-scale wind farm in the Gulf Cooperation Council. Al Muharrami has been serving as a board member of the Jordan Wind Project Company, the first wind farm project company in Jordan, the Shams Power Company (100MW CSP), and served on the advisory committee for many projects including the 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm in the UK and the ESI Carbon Capture project in Abu Dhabi. Before joining Masdar, Al Muharrami worked for nine years in the oil and gas industry. He was a project leader at the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), where he developed production facilities for a number of new offshore oil fields. Prior to that, he worked as process engineer in the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), and worked in projects for clients including the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGCL) of India and TAKREER, among others. Al Muharrami holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management - distinction with honours - from the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi. He also graduated in Chemical Engineering with distinction.
